Where are SVG files saved on iPhone and iPad?
You exported an SVG and cannot find it in Photos. That is normal. This guide shows where the file goes and how to use it.
Why SVG is not in Photos
The Photos app keeps only photos and videos. It does not accept SVG files.
So the share sheet does not show Save Image for an SVG. Vectorize Image warns about this under the SVG option.
Save the SVG to Files
- In Vectorize Image, tap Export and choose SVG.
- In the share sheet, tap Save to Files.
- Pick a folder. On My iPhone (or On My iPad) keeps the file on the device. iCloud Drive syncs it to your other devices.
- Tap Save.
Find the SVG later
Open the Files app. Tap Browse and open the folder you picked.
You can also search. Tap the search field in Files and type “svg”.
Send the SVG without saving
You do not have to save the file first. The share sheet sends the SVG directly:
- AirDrop sends it to a Mac or another iPhone or iPad.
- Mail and Messages attach it as a file.
- Other apps appear in the share sheet if they accept SVG.
Drag the result on iPad
On iPad, you can skip the share sheet. Touch and hold the result in Vectorize Image. Then drop it into another app in Split View.
Need a file for Photos?
Export a PNG instead. Tap Export and choose PNG at 1×, 2×, 3× or 4×. Then tap Save Image. The PNG goes to Photos.
